Maidless and (Still) Surviving

Image
Today marks the 15th day that we're maid-less.   Hahaha itu pun ada   milestone   kan ? Well, this is not the first time. We've been in this situation before - about a year ago where we were left with no maid for almost one month. But the situation was different then. We were expecting for the replacement maid to come, but there were delays, hence the 'maidless period'.  But this time around, there is no replacement or even back up plan. We terminated the service and that was it. No plan at all. No preparation.  The circumstances that we are facing (which is too complicated to be explained here) has made us to the conclusion that getting a new maid is not an option, at least for now. How are we doing so far?  Well, quite okay if I can say so myself. Our  house is still in order:  NO piles of dirty dishes and clothes - T his is my proudest achievement as it proves that the amount of time and effort that I had spent in front of the kitchen sink and washing mac

Let It Go Adeelia!

Image
Undoubtedly, our children’s firsts will always bring excitement to the parents. The first smile, first word, first step, first tooth and the list will go on and on. Nevertheless, whatever milestone, achievements or occasion, it will definitely make us, the parents to squeak with joy, brimming with pride and happiness. Aren't parenting make us more sentimental? So the last couple of weeks had been about Adeelia’s few firsts. First, it was her first school concert.  Adeelia just loves to perform. I suspected that she had watched Barney and Hi-5 a little too much that she might think that we are all living in a musical-where-everything can-turn-into-a-song world .. hehehe. Even though we had seen her voluntarily performing   ‘Let it Go’ (well sort of, the lyrics was quite a mouthful, right?)  during family gatherings,  on top of   her thousands of times rendering the song in the house and in the car,  attending her first school concert was still exciting as we got to see h

Pengajaran Seminggu yang Lalu

Image

D.I.Y Kids' Birthday Party

Image
To most of them, as long as there's a cake, balloons and birthday song, it can be considered as a birthday party already.. . hehehe. I'm not blaming the men though, as they are just being themselves - simple and straight forward. But, for us moms, we just want to do the super best f

Lagenda Budak 'Kejut'

Image
Wah, mengambil mood filem Lagenda Budak Setan (walaupun tak pernah baca novel & tengok filem tu), kali ni nak bercerita tentang pengalaman menjadi budak kejuruteraan atau nama glamernya budak 'kejut'. Semasa hantar proposal , perlu sertakan sekali salinan ijazah. Biasalah, bila dah kerja ni, folder sijil semua tu dibuka bila perlu saja.  Masa dok belek folder   sijil tu, entah macam mana ada satu perasaan menyelinap. Tak tahu nak gambarkan macam mana perasaan itu .  Ini kot dipanggil nostalgia lama menggamit perasaan? Fuh, ayat memang Klasik FM sangat hehehe!

My Experience Surviving in the Kitchen during Ramadhan

Image
As we are celebrating Aidilfitri, I still want to write about Ramadhan =)  Well, this post serves as a  reminiscence for me to manage my time wisely and to be a better home manager =) Well, you see, it's not easy to run a  household. I even think that it's easier to run an office, because you have all the resources to assist you - when you want to solve an issue or to make an important decision you can call for a meeting and discuss about the options and what not. But when it's totally a different story when it comes to y our own household. Decisions have to be made almost all the time and it must be very quick.  One of the most frequent decisions to make is "What to have for dinner?"  And MH, being a thoughtful person that he always is, will answer my question with a simple "Tak kisahlah, you masak je apa-apa". Thaankkksss... So you can imagine my nervousness as we enter Ramadhan, where time is scarce and (good) food is expected to be on the
