Life is Like a Birthday Cake, Just Enjoy It!

Image
"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." –  Mark Twain Four years ago, I quoted this gem on my birthday post alongside an honest declaration that I was, at that point of time unable to fully comprehend the purpose of me being here just yet. After 42 times of embarking the journey around the sun, suffice to say, I already figure out the latter, though it was not a smooth sailing journey all the way. In conjunction of my birthday month, here is my reflection of life as a 40-something lass..  Life is like a Birthday Cake   ~ 🎂 People always say that life begins at 40. Little did I know that it was not supposed to mean that life after 40 is going to be a fun and easy one. Of course, by the time we've reached 40, w e got most of the major life events sorted out already – education, love/marriage, family, career and all. Adulthood undoubtfully was an eventful journey ~ burning the midnight oil t...

Happy birthday to ME!!

Image
Marking another year on this planet, Alhamdulillah 😊 I got to know this intriguing quote quite recently - but not from the great author himself, but from my favourite movie - The Equalizer.  Which remind me that I need to READ real books more!  On a serious note, yup, I have been celebrating the day I was born for decades, and yet to really figure out about the latter.

Thanks for the Memories

Goodbye 2017, welcome 2018! Personally, 2017 was a year of new discoveries and challenges for me, perhaps it was a year of revelation.  In 2017, I came to realize my full potential as well as my limitations. I had stopped running from the reality and faced  the cold-hard truth instead. I tasted both saccharine sweet moments as well as the bitter ones. I had swallowed both and learned to live with it. I  also discovered that there were so much more to this life than meets the eye. For better or for worse, 2017 had made me stronger. #NewYear2018

Welcome 2017!

Happy New Year! Well, let's start the new year by reflecting of what had been happening to me last year.  The year 2016 had been quite a roller coaster ride for me. There were a lot of great things happening to me in 2016 and of course there were some that were not so good. I'm not complaining though, because I guess that is life - we will have our share of good times and of course the opposite. It is the thing that hurt you the most that will teach you the greatest lessons in life.  In order for us to appreciate the food is to be hungry first, right?  That is why I don't really agree when some people said things like "Oh let's hope that 2017 will be a better year" and that kind of stuff. I mean, it is not the new year, the change of numbers at the end that will change our future, or our fate. It all depends on us - we are the one who are supposed to make the change. It's got nothing to do with the year etc. But, I do agree that the new year i...

Maidless and (Still) Surviving

Image
Today marks the 15th day that we're maid-less.   Hahaha itu pun ada   milestone   kan ? Well, this is not the first time. We've been in this situation before - about a year ago where we were left with no maid for almost one month. But the situation was different then. We were expecting for the replacement maid to come, but there were delays, hence the 'maidless period'.  But this time around, there is no replacement or even back up plan. We terminated the service and that was it. No plan at all. No preparation.  The circumstances that we are facing (which is too complicated to be explained here) has made us to the conclusion that getting a new maid is not an option, at least for now. How are we doing so far?  Well, quite okay if I can say so myself. Our  house is still in order:  NO piles of dirty dishes and clothes - T his is my proudest achievement as it proves that the amount of time and effort that I h...

Pengajaran Seminggu yang Lalu

Image

Lagenda Budak 'Kejut'

Image
Wah, mengambil mood filem Lagenda Budak Setan (walaupun tak pernah baca novel & tengok filem tu), kali ni nak bercerita tentang pengalaman menjadi budak kejuruteraan atau nama glamernya budak 'kejut'. Semasa hantar proposal , perlu sertakan sekali salinan ijazah. Biasalah, bila dah kerja ni, folder sijil semua tu dibuka bila perlu saja.  Masa dok belek folder   sijil tu, entah macam mana ada satu perasaan menyelinap. Tak tahu nak gambarkan macam mana perasaan itu .  Ini kot dipanggil nostalgia lama menggamit perasaan? Fuh, ayat memang Klasik FM sangat hehehe!

Contohn...

Sabtu nan indah...

Selamat pagi semua! Setelah sekian lama menulis backdated post , hari ini nak cuba menulis tentang current affairs pula. Tak ler terasa ketinggalan sangat heheheh....Actually the main reason that I can afford to write today is because both of my precious lil' ones are still sleeping. MH pula outstation . So I have the whole morning for myself!! This is quite an achievement after 7++ months (since I got Aydeen)!! Hooray!   Here's what I (or we?) had been up to lately:   The kids  - Adeelia has started school. Not even play school, but the actual tadika near to our home. It has been 2 months now and I'm glad that we had made the decision to send her there. Eh, it's not that she's making tremendous achievement academically,. I don't even expect that pun . It's just that now she has her own routine, she's lots more happier. You see, Adeelia is such an active and out going kid. Even though my Mom has been really great in taking care of her while M...

Musim Raya dah Tiba

Bila tiba musim Raya, seperti musim-musim lainnya, maka a...

Not the RIGHT person - Part II

Image
This is the continuation from my previous entry on being left-handed. In this entry, I wish to share some everyday little things that you might not aware about living as a left-handed person: 1. Pencil / pen smudges As we write from left to right using our left hand, our hands would smudge the lead/ink as it passed over the writing. This is most apparent after sitting for an essay-writing exam. I had to scrub my hand really hard after the exam as it would be covered with blue/black ink. Using a fountain pen is a nighthmare as the ink is 'wet' so we tend to smear  not only our hands, but the paper as well. Before After - the pencil smudge 2. Choosing a notebook Lefties will a void buying notebooks with the rings/binders on the left. It is because we will not be able to write comfortably as our hands will push the ring. We also despise any notebook with thick binding for the same reason. It hurts our hands!  The binde...

Not The RIGHT Person - Part I

Image
We’re living in a perfectly right world. We are told to do the right thing to make sure that everything is alright. We learn to say the right word to the right person at the right time to make things right . In doing so, we have to make sure that we adhere to the human rights and all other related rights . Singletons will only want to settle down once they met their own Mr. or Mrs. Right . Being 'right ' is acceptable in all cultures especially people in the East. It is synonymous with being 'correct' or 'proper'. Those who wish to act or think differently would be called the 'lefties '. The rebellious one. Not that desirable to have at all. In Malay, 'kanan' does even mean supremacy. Pengurus kanan (senior manager), orang kanan, turutan kekananan etc. If it is all good with being right ,  how about us who are more inclined towards the left a.k.a.  left-handed ? It is estimated that 10% of the world's population are lef...
