Tragedi Oktober ~ Air oh Air

Image

Second Quarter of 2020 ~ A Retrospective: A Virus so Powerful They Gave It A Crown

Image
How it started On top of the national political turmoil, the happenings on the second quarter of 2020 was something that we never imagined of except in the movie.  Who would have thought that the whole world would be shaken and stood almost completely still because of a virus! Yep, the Coronaviruses (65–125 nm in diameter) had cause nothing but chaos since the first outbreak was reported sometime in December last year. The case was first discovered in Wuhan, China (well at least it was what the scientists believed to be) and within a short period of time, it has become a major outbreak.   Despite of it becoming a pandemic, the virus itself was not entirely new. The earliest reported case was in the late 1920s and human coronaviruses were discovered in the 1960s. It was interesting to know that the scientists named it ‘Corona’ which is Latin for crown because of its spiky surface.   When we first heard about the case, we said to ourselves, “Wow, that’s bad”....

Cuti-cuti Malaysia : Muzium Negara

Image

To the Girls I Loved Before: Gilmore Girls

Image
Growing up, one of my favourite TV shows apart from F.R.I.E.N.D.S (of course) had to be the Gilmore Girls. The show made its debut on 2000 and had ran for seven seasons until 2007.   Gilmore Girls was the ‘hip and happening’ TV shows back then. It was a perfect combo of gorgeous leading roles ~ Lorelai and Rory that were living a somewhat Boho life in an idyllic small-town ~ Stars Hollow (that seemed to host so many festivities all year long) with their loving and quirky friends and also neighbours. Apart from the small town charm, f rom time to time, the audience got a glimpse of the life of the rich and privileged  society in America  all thanks to  Richard and Emily Gilmore  which seemed to either hosting or attending so many parties -  cocktail parties, charity events etc., including the absurd occasion (well at least to me) the debutante ball @ coming out party - are you serious?   The Gilmore Girls' Inner Circle Back then (oh I feel so...

Cuti -cuti Malaysia : Pulau Pangkor (Part 2)

Image
Memandangkan sekarang dah masuk fasa Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP) dan perjalanan rentas negeri dah dibenarkan, so jom recap   #CutiCutiMalaysia Pulau Pangkor tahun lepas. (Sebenarnya alasan sebab post ni dah lama terperam kat draft dan banyak gambar belum post ) 😁 Aktiviti hari pertama kita dah cerita kat Pulau Pangkor Part 1 .  So now kita sambung part 2 pula ya. Day 2 - 8th June 2019 Island hopping and Snorkeling   Hari yang ditunggu-tunggu – sebab ada island hopping! We got ours at Pasir Bogak beach – quite a good deal I guess for an excursion tour by speed boat ~ passing the attractions (approximately 6 beaches, 3 islands) and inclusive of rental of 2 pairs of snorkel. Most importantly,  i t was really convenient as all we had to do was to walk ...

First Quarter of 2020 ~ A Retrospective : The Never Ending Story

Image
The year 2020 have been really interesting and we only just got to the first half of it. I had so much to share here about the happenings in my life, my country and even the world for the past six months that I decided to break the post into a few smaller pieces for it to be more bearable for the readers  hahaha. I will start with the ULTIMATE political turmoil that the country had ever seen. This was far more interesting than the change in Government after the General Election in May 2018. I will not talk about politics ~ it is just not my cup of tea. But here are some of the fascinating findings that I found from the whole ordeal: The-One-Man-Cabinet Following the unprecedented change in the Government on February 24th 2020 with the abrupt resignation of Malaysia’s 7 th (and also 4 th Prime Minister) the country was left without Cabinet Ministers for a little over a fortnight. During the period, Tun M was appointed by YDPA as the Interim PM, resulting the Cabine...

Movie Review: DOWNSIZING (2017) - Size Doesn't Matter

Image
Filem sains fiksyen sememangnya bukan genre kegemaran saya – mungkin kerana selalunya filem sedemikian dibikin terlalu jauh dari realiti, setnya terlalu futuristik dan terlalu asing menjadikan filem berkenaan ‘keras dan kaku’ untuk saya. Itulah, nama pun fiksyen kan. There's nothing wrong with that kind of film, but it's just not my cup of tea. What it is about? Rupa-rupanya telahan saya menyimpang jauh. Downsizing yang dimaksudkan dalam f...
